AxoVPN is operated by Burcu Eren, a company registered in Turkey. We build one product: a browser extension that routes your browser traffic through servers we run ourselves.
We are a small team, which is why the product is deliberately narrow. We would rather do one thing properly than five things badly.
Most privacy tools ask you to install something that takes over your whole machine. We wanted the opposite: a small, fast thing that covers the browser — where almost all of your everyday activity happens — and leaves the rest of your computer alone.
That decision keeps setup to about thirty seconds, keeps the connection fast, and keeps the failure modes simple.
We rent and configure our own exit servers rather than reselling somebody else’s network. Every account gets its own connection credentials, so nothing is shared across a pool of users.
We do not record which websites our users visit. That is a consequence of how the connection works, not just a policy: on encrypted traffic our servers see a hostname, never a page address, and we do not store that either. What we keep is which account connected, when, and how much data moved — the minimum needed to answer an abuse complaint.
